How do I log in for the first time?

Step 1 – Tap on the Travnar Lite icon on your iPhone's homepage then tap "Sign Up" at the bottom of screen. Here you will need to provide the following:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • E-mail
  • Password (min 6 characters)
  • Confirm Password

Step 2 – Tap on "Home Location" at the bottom of the screen and type in your home city or town. If your city or town is not available, find and select the city nearest you with an airport. Then tap "Sign Up" at bottom of screen.

Step 3 – Read End-User License Agreement and tap "I Agree" at bottom of agreement. You will get a window saying, "Sign Up. Please check your e-mail. You will soon receive a message telling you how to confirm your sign up." Tap "Ok."

Step 4 – Check your e-mail account for an e-mail from no-reply@travnar.net within 1 hour or the activation link will expire and you will need to complete steps 1 through 3 again. If the Travnar e-mail is not in your Inbox check your Junk Mail. Otherwise, complete steps 1 through 3 again and make sure you provide your correct e-mail address. If you are still not receiving our e-mail contact us at support.lite@travnar.com.

Step 5 – Open the Travnar e-mail and click on the "Travnar Lite Sign Up link." You will now see a screen confirming your Travnar Lite Sign Up which will inform you that you may log in to your Travnar Lite app using your e-mail and password. Congratulations, you are now an official Travnar Lite User.

Why do you need my e-mail and what do you do with it?

The primary reason we at Travnar collect certain information about you, such as your e-mail, is to provide excellent customer service and to continually improve upon the products, services, and websites that we offer. Travnar values your privacy and understands your concerns related to privacy.

Your e-mail will not be used for spam e-mails. We will occasionally send you updates via e-mail notifying you of new product updates or releases which you will have the opportunity to opt out of by simply clicking on a link. On rare occasions we will send you invitations to complete surveys created to enhance your travel experience. Participation in these surveys is optional.

Is my information with Travnar secure?

What do I do if I forget my password?

On the "Log In" Screen click on "Forgot Password?" A "Forgot Password" screen will appear asking you to check your e-mail. Tap "Ok." Check your e-mail account for a "reset-password" e-mail from Travnar. Click the link and follow instructions.

When selecting current location why does a city other than the one I am currently in show up?

It is simply not possible to provide data on every city and town worldwide. Since most travelers do not venture far from airports, the list of countries we offer data on is limited to cities and towns worldwide which have an airport serving commercial airline traffic. So when choosing your location by tapping on "Current Location" the Travnar App will by default select the nearest city or town with an airport if your current city or town does not have an airport serving commercial airline traffic.

Why is weather not displaying for my current city?

Make sure your Wi-Fi or cellular data is turned on. If either is on and the weather still does not display, please contact our support team at support.lite@travnar.com.

How do I customize the app to my preferences so that the weather is displayed in my preferred scale, i.e., Celsius or Fahrenheit, and the time is displayed in my preferred clock system, i.e., 12 or 24 hour system?

On the menu panel at the bottom tap on "Preferences." Here you can select your Home Location, choose your preferred weather scale and clock system.

Why do some travel apps display on the iTunes store but not on the Travnar App Filter?

We are constantly updating and improving our App Filter. If there is a Travel app which is available on the iTunes Store but not displaying in the Travnar App Filter under its appropriate category, please let us know at support.lite@travnar.com.

Are there other Travnar app versions available to the general consumer and if not, does Travnar have plans to release any?

Currently, the only Travnar app available to the general consumer is the Travnar Lite app offered exclusively on the iTunes Store. By downloading and using the Travnar Lite App, you are expressing your support for our product which will help us justify bringing more dynamic and sophisticated travel tools to you in the future. However, do keep an eye open for our "Pro" version app which is scheduled to be released in late 2011. In the meantime, please join our Facebook Fan Page (www.facebook.com/travnar) and Twitter Account (www.twitter.com/travnar) to submit recommendations for future releases. How often is your currency data updated?

Data for all our currencies is updated at least once a day. For major currencies, such as the US Dollar, British Pound, Euro and Yen, the data is updated 2 to 3 times a day.

How do I share this app with my friends and colleagues?

Once logged in the Travnar Lite App, select "Change Loc" on the menu found at the bottom of the screen and then tap on "Share with a friend" found just below the "Choose your location" Box. A default e-mail with a link to our iTunes page will display. Feel free to add additional comments. Then enter the name of your friend/colleague in the "To" field found at the top of the e-mail. If your friend/colleague is already in your e-mail directory his/her e-mail will automatically display when you enter the first couple of letters of his/her name or e-mail account. Select the account and hit "Send" at the top right hand corner of the e-mail screen.

When I travel abroad roaming charges can be very costly. What does Travnar do to help me minimize these costs?

The only Travnar Lite tools which require Wi-Fi or cellular data network to be turned on are the Travel Academy, App Filter and Weather. The Day/Night Map, Tip Calculator and Units Converter work without a Wi-Fi or cellular data network connection in order to help you minimize roaming costs while abroad. The Currency Converter also works without a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection but the currency exchange rates displayed will reflect the rates from when you last opened the Currency Converter while connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular data network. Remember to keep your cellular data turned off as much as possible when travelling abroad to avoid substantial roaming charges.
